“Cristina Dobre, from Bucharest, who works as a bus driver in England, was yesterday declared man of the year by the community in the town of Hertford, located not far from the northern border of London.
Cristina benefited from the huge support of the passengers who took bus 333, on the route between Hertford and Bengeo.
“For all of us, who go on her bus, Cristina is wonderful and very friendly, just like a ray of sunshine. She makes our day more beautiful”, said one of the ardent supporters of the Romanian, according to the platform “I Love Hertford! “.
Congratulations, Cristina!”, is the message posted on the UK Ad account.
The congratulations for Cristina came both from the people of the community she serves and from the Romanians, who draw attention to the fact that we have been given “false labels”.
“Congratulations, this is about Romania, PEOPLE beautiful in face and soul!!! (…) Much to the satisfaction of all Romanians, that even the weakest nations from every point of view put false labels on us. It’s enough! RESPECT the lady!”, is one of the comments, coming from a Romanian woman.
Dozens of comments of appreciation are on the Facebook page. “I love Hertford”, and from the English citizens.
“It’s a tonic presence. She sees everyone and makes them feel part of something. I love our Cristina”, “We 100% agree with this. As grandparents who come to Bengeo to look after her two grandchildren once a week, and who occasionally use this bus, we are always amazed by her smile, friendliness and interaction with the children. Our two grandsons are always looking after her and waving at her. Bravo Cristina!”, these are just some of the comments.
The initiators of the campaign describe the very moment when they went to hand Cristina the diploma, the reaction of the citizens on the bus being an exceptional one: they applauded the driver.
