President Klaus Iohannis and his wife witnessed the departure from Tanzania at a unique ritual, in which several young people threw portraits of the presidential couple into the water.
A tour guide who was present at the event stated that the Romanian president told his counterpart that he wanted to visit the diving area, on which occasion he was given “a surprise”.
Images of Carmen and Klaus Iohannis on the ship that took them from Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar appeared on social networks. President Iohannis is in the Republic of Cabo Verde, the next stage being Senegal, which concludes the African tour.
