Thus, the largest increase in the average net salary was recorded by Gorj county, by 24% in December 2022 compared to December 2021, from 3,400 lei to 4,230 lei. In Brăila, the average salary of employees increased by 21% in December 2022 compared to December 2021, to just over 3,500 lei, and in Covasna salaries increased by 19%, to almost 3,700 lei net.
Only five counties managed to exceed the average net salary per economy in December 2022
However, salaries in these counties did not reach the value of the average net salary for the economy, which reached almost 4,400 net lei at the end of 2022. Moreover, only five counties managed to exceed the average net salary for the economy in December 2022, respectively Sibiu, Ilfov, Timiş, Cluj and the municipality of Bucharest.
At the opposite pole were the counties of Hunedoara, with an increase of 5%, Botoşani, also with 5%, and Tulcea, with 6%. “The map of salary increases is superimposed on the map of investments and areas with accelerated development. We are talking about the big urban centers and their neighboring areas: Bucharest-Ilfov and Cluj, side by side, with an economic explosion that is sometimes difficult to manage from a salary perspective, then Timisoara and Iaşi, Braşov, Sibiu, Oradea. Beyond these areas, there is still a tense labor market, but there are fewer investors and the competition is not so fierce”, says Raluca Pârvu, business manager at the human resources consulting company BPI Romania.
