Netflix officially confirmed on Friday that “Wednesday,” its popular Addams Family series filmed in Romania, has been renewed for a second season.

The information was revealed by Miles Millar and Alfred Gough, the producers of the series, in an announcement made on Tudum, the Netflix platform for its fans.
“We can’t wait to dive headfirst into another season and explore the scary and strange world of Nevermore,” the pair said.
Millar pointed to the season one finale, when Wednesday receives an anonymous message suggesting that Hyde’s threat is still real, as a hint of what fans can expect for season 2.
The announcement was accompanied by a video announcement that promises more “torture” from Wednesday in season 2, with Jenna Ortega telling Tudum that the character she plays will “stick to her guns and not try to please anybody.” .

After its release on Netflix on November 16 of last year Wednesday became the series with the best debut in the history of the streaming platform for an English-language series, reaching over one billion hours of viewing in the weeks that followed.

Among the locations used for filming in Romania were the Cantacuzino Castle in Bușteni, the royal train station in Sinaia, Casa Monteoru in Bucharest, the Polytechnic University in the capital and the Old Greenhouse of the Botanical Garden.
Despite the rumors appearing “on sources” in this regard in the Romanian press, neither Netflix nor the director Tim Burton have announced for the time being that a possible season 2 of Wednesday it will no longer be filmed in Romania.
