Actor Gene Hackman, 94, and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, 62, appeared together in public for the first time in 21 years. The couple was caught leaving a restaurant in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Hackman, who appeared quite relaxed during the extremely rare public appearance, was seen holding on to his wife’s arm and using a walking stick for support. Dressed casually, the actor wore a gray wool vest and green cargo pants, completing his outfit with trainers and a beige baseball cap. At the same time, his wife, Betsy Arakawa, opted for a comfortable outfit consisting of a floral print shirt and blue jeans.

The Hollywood star was caught entering a shop where she purchased a hot cup of coffee and an apple pie. He later went for a walk with Betsy, showing that their love is just as strong, even after 33 years of marriage.

The last public appearance of the two was 21 years ago, when they walked the red carpet at the Golden Globes in 2003. Since then, Hackman has retired from the spotlight and devoted himself to a quiet life with his wife in Santa Fe.

Gene Hackman and Betsy Arakawa first met when she was working at a gym in Los Angeles. They married in 1991 and live together in a rustic, southwestern-style ranch in Santa Fe. Although they had no children together, Hackman is the father of three children, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Faye Maltese, to whom he was married for 30 years until their divorce in 1986.
