Apple is preparing to introduce a new feature called Circle to Search for the iPhone 16 series. However, iPhone users can already access a similar variant offered by Google, even before the official launch of the feature by Apple.

The feature comes in the context where the collaboration between Google and Apple does not yet include the official implementation of Circle to Search on the iOS platform.

However, the Google Lens functionality, which includes the Circle to Search option, is accessible to iPhone users through the Google app. This allows users to take a screenshot, circle the desired object directly in the image and get specific information about it using Google Lens technology, writes 9to5Google.

To facilitate access to this function, iPhone 15 Pro users can associate the “Search your screenshot” shortcut with the device’s Action Button. Those who don’t have an iPhone with an Action Button can set up a quick access command called Back Tap, available in the phone’s accessibility menu. This allows them to activate the feature with a simple double or triple tap on the back of the device.

The procedure is as follows:

On your iPhone, go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch.

Scroll to the Back Tap option and select either Double Tap or Triple Tap.

Scroll down to the Shortcuts section and select the desired shortcut.

Activate the setting by pressing Back Tap.

Once activated, the feature will allow the phone to take a screenshot and send it to Google Lens, where users can select options such as quick text copy, translation or visual search.
