HUAWEI Pura 70 Ultra tops DXOMARK photo performance chart

Recently announced in Romania and launched almost a month ago in China, the HUAWEI Pura 70 Ultra has already ranked first in the DXOMARK camera category, with a score of 163 points. It’s no surprise, every year when the new HUAWEI P series model is announced, it quickly reaches first place in the ranking.

The cameras of the HUAWEI Pura 70 Ultra

Before discussing the DXOMARK rating in detail, let’s recall the camera features of the HUAWEI Pura 70 Ultra. On the back it has:

• main wide (25mm) with 50 MP sensor (1 inch), variable aperture (f/1.6-F4.0), sensor-shift type optical stabilization (OIS) and retractable lens;
• telephoto (90mm) with 50 MP sensor, f/2.1, 3.5x optical zoom, QuadPD AF and OIS optical stabilization;
• ultrawide (13mm) with 40 MP sensor, f/2.2 and QuadPD AF.

Video up to 4K with HDR, gyro-EIS stabilization and optical stabilization (OIS).

The selfie camera is ultrawide with a 13 MP sensor, f/2.4 and auto-focus.

The top 5 DXOMARK on cameras at the beginning of May 2024 is completed by Honor Magic 6 Pro, HUAWEI Mate 60 Pro+, Oppo Find X7 Ultra and HUAWEI P60 Pro. Three of the five phones are HUAWEI, and I think that says enough about the quality of the Chinese manufacturer’s cameras.

It is, as usual, an excellent phone for photography, but it “suffers” when it comes to filming, I say this from experience with other top Huawei models and based on DXOMARK analysis, because I have not yet got my hands on the HUAWEI Pura 70 Ultra. As they sometimes say, it’s a phone for photographers.
