Mihai Leu, hospitalized urgently due to complications after an operation. He was transferred from Hunedoara to Bucharest

Boxing and rally champion Mihai Leu was urgently hospitalized, Friday evening, at the hospital in Hunedoara, from where he was then transferred to Bucharest.

According to Pagina de Timiş, which cites medical sources, the athlete’s worsening condition was caused by complications arising from a surgical intervention three weeks ago, at the Military Hospital.

The doctors at the ATI department of the Hunedoara hospital decided to transfer the champion to Bucharest, where he was taken over by the renowned doctor Prof. Irinel Popescu.

In 2014, Leu found out he had colon cancer. The athlete then spent two months in the hospital and was operated on twice, according to the source quoted by News.ro.

The 55-year-old athlete is an absolute rally champion and holds three national titles in Coastal Speed.
