“It’s really a first for Romania”

--

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, leader of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), made statements on Friday, during a press conference held in Brăila, addressing a question related to the possible reshuffle of the government. Ciolacu emphasized that an evaluation of the ministers’ activity takes place regularly, both weekly and monthly. Moreover, he highlighted that in the last year, since he has been in office, he was not aware of any scandal within the government team, a situation considered unprecedented in the Romanian political context.

“Why am I very proud?”

“The ministers’ analysis is weekly and monthly. Normally, for example, next week – together with Mr. Adrian Câciu and the Minister of Finance I already had a preliminary meeting – I will have a discussion with each minister, with each institution, regarding the PNRR and the developments that are at each milestone . So a dynamic, not an analysis, we got together and let’s see what head we cut. What am I very proud of? Although it is a coalition government, made up of PSD and PNL, in the years since I have been prime minister, I have not heard of any scandal within the government team. It’s really a first for Romania and I’m very proud of this”, declared Marcel Ciolacu.
