The Sibiu City Hall hopes to start the works for the Gușterland Park in the summer of 2024, after obtaining all the approvals. The execution of the works will be carried out by CON-A Operation SRL Sibiu & Ischia SRL Galați & Submit SRL Iași and could start in June.
In an interview for Ora de Sibiu, Astrid Fodor provided details about the current point of the Gușterland project. Therefore, the contract for the technical project and associated works was signed and the value of the construction amounts to almost 60 million lei. The complex on Dealul Gușteriței will be intended for sports and recreational activities for the whole family, respecting the environment. Astrid Fodor says that the project will be carried out respecting the natural setting and the environment.
“We have already signed the contract for the realization of the technical project and the execution of the works. Besides, the technical project is completed and I hope that in the course of June we will issue the order to start the works, after obtaining all the necessary approvals. The complex will be a space for the whole family. The people of Sibiu, together with whom we have named this Complex, will be able to do sports, go for walks or bike rides or relax in the generous areas that will be set up for the big ones, but also for the little ones. I emphasize that the entire project will be arranged respecting and protecting the natural environment in which it will be created”, says Astrid Fodor.

Amenities will include a summer sledding facility, bike and walking trails, ski and tubing slopes, ziplines and play areas. Fodor aims to obtain non-refundable European funding for the project, through the Central Region Program.
“We will create here a summer tobogganing facility with a route of more than 1.5 km, a bicycle route, but also a pedestrian route for walking, a ski slope and tubing, zip lines for adults and children, playgrounds . For relaxation, a panoramic terrace and an area with tables and benches are provided. We will submit this project to obtain non-refundable European funding”, explained the mayor of Sibiu.
