Hubert Thuma, the president of the Ilfov County Council, answered the citizens’ questions regarding the budget allocated to Health and the projects in this key area, which are moving forward.
The President of the Ilfov County Council declared that, this year, the budget allocated to Health is the largest so far.
Also, Hubert Thuma explained what are the big projects that the whole county is proud of
“First of all, it is the first time in the history of Ilfov County that the Ilfov County Council has a large budget, a fair budget, which meets the needs of the citizens of Ilfov.
There are more than 300,000 residents of Ilfov who work in Bucharest and who pay taxes and fees in Bucharest and, for the first time, we managed to receive a share back from the taxes and fees collected in Bucharest, paid by the citizens of Ilfov, with which we can finance many projects.
Obviously also health projects. We have a record health budget, because we need, including when attracting European funds, a fairly large share of co-financing, and here I would like to talk to you about Buftea Hospital, the hospital where we attracted a European project of 100 million of euros, where the co-financing will be generous and this money helps us to be able to co-finance such projects.
We will start the project soon and build a new hospital from scratch.
I also went to the Ilfov County Hospital, now we are in progress and here I would like to thank a private company that donated over 4 million lei and with which we are building a new operating room.
Once again, I want to tell you that it is extremely important to have partnerships with private companies, it is a beneficial thing for us and I want to thank everyone who gave us a hand and sponsored our events a lot” , said Hubert Thuma.
“Another project that is very dear to me: Ilfov through your eyes”
According to the president of the Ilfov County Council, last year, over 15,000 Ilfov residents were consulted ophthalmologically and over 21,000 pairs of glasses were offered free of charge to citizens, through a project.
“Also, another project that is very dear to me: Ilfov through your eyes, is a project that started through a discussion with the owner of a private company. He came and told me that he could provide us with 8,000 pairs of glasses for the citizens of Ilfov, free of charge, and then I told him that I would rather give me a big discount, because I might need 30,000 pairs of glasses, not knowing the exact number.
That gentleman told me that Romania gave him a lot and because he wants to give back to the country, he provides me with as many pairs of glasses as we need.
A year has passed, there are over 15,000 Ilfov residents who have been consulted and over 21,000 pairs of glasses that have been offered free of charge”, added Hubert Thuma, president of the Ilfov County Council.
