France has Paris, Switzerland has the Alps, Italy has history, architecture and delicious food, Greece has wonderful beaches, Romania has teas and salt! At least that’s how the Minister of Tourism chose to promote our country at international fairs. And the idea will be put into practice with the help of an interactive map, which is being worked on now.

The Ministry believes that therapeutic tourism is the solution to attract more foreigners to Romania.

Romania is the country in the European Union where the fewest foreign tourists come, according to Eurostat. This while countries such as France, Spain, Italy or Greece are in the top 10 worldwide.

However, the Ministry of Tourism is looking for the recipe for success and is working on the map of Phytotherapeutic Tourism in our country.

The teas and salt would complement, at international fairs, the promotion of Romania’s traditional tourist attractions.

“We can be known as a tourism area for curative purposes, to solve your health problems”, says the Minister of Tourism, Radu Oprea.

As there is no shortage of ideas, tourism specialists say that there is a need, however, for promotion money and concrete strategies.

“The big challenge is to bring foreign tourists and for that we have to align ourselves with the destinations around us and see what they do. Or we don’t have tourism offices outside, because a minister closed them.

He closed them with the intention of replacing them, but he never got around to it and no one put anything back in place. We now hope to convince the government to open them, at least in the seven target countries from where we hope to bring tourists to Romania,” said Adi Voican, vice president of ANAT.

While the Ministry of Tourism is switching from one strategy to another, the Kalin brothers managed to promote our country. on social networks all over the world, after they danced to the song “Made in Romania”.
