A 60-year-old man from Mera commune, Vrancea county, died on Monday morning, after his home was engulfed in a fire started from the chimney of the stove.
According to ISU Vrancea, on Monday morning, a call to the single emergency number 112 announced the occurrence of a fire in Mera commune.
3 crews from the Focşani Fire Department and SVSU Odobeşti and Mera moved to the indicated place in the shortest possible time.
When the crews arrived at the scene of the intervention, the fire appeared generalized to the entire house in an area of approximately 50 square meters. The charred body of a 60-year-old man was discovered inside the house.
Also, following the investigations, the fire department determined that the fire was caused by a chimney that was improperly placed or not thermally protected against combustible materials.
