Fines of over 27,000 lei given to businesses in Alba Iulia and other towns in the municipality: What irregularities did Consumer Protection discover

The Police and Consumer Protection fined 65 economic agents from Alba Iulia, Câmpeni, Abrud and Baia de Aries, with amnesties worth over 27,000 lei.

According to the IPJ Alba, on May 3, 2024, the police officers of the Economic Crime Investigation Service within the Alba County Police Inspectorate continued the control actions regarding the way of carrying out trade in food and non-food products. They took place within the Alba Iulia municipality and the cities of Câmpeni, Abrud and Baia de Aries.

The police officers checked 65 economic agents, and following the controls, they found 14 violations of a contraventional nature, which were sanctioned with fines in the amount of 27,000 lei. As a complementary measure, the amount of 1,131 lei was confiscated.

Of the sanctions, 9 were applied to OG 28 of 1999 regarding the obligation of economic agents to use electronic fiscal marking devices, and the rest to other normative acts that regulate commercial activity.
