Florin Piersic, aged 88, underwent knee surgery at the Cluj-Napoca Military Hospital, later being transferred to the Heart Institute in Cluj-Napoca to be monitored by doctors, news.ro reports.

The great actor recently made the first statements about his health, stating that he is fine after the intervention he went through a few days ago. “I’m fine, that’s the most important thing. Good, in the sense that… I mean I’m healthy and I wish you the same,” Florin Piersic told Realitatea Plus.

Information appeared in the public space according to which the actor contracted a nosocomial infection in the hospital and should be transferred to a medical facility in Vienna. Representatives of the Emergency Military Clinical Hospital “Dr. Constantin Papilian” from Cluj-Napoca sent, on Thursday, a series of clarifications, “taking into account the information that appeared in the public space and to clarify the aspects related to the medical assistance given to the actor Florin Piersic in our hospital”.
