Emma Heming, wife of Bruce Willis, has revealed that publicly announcing the actor’s illness was like a huge weight being lifted off her shoulders.
Asked how her life has changed since she announced in early 2023 that Bruce had dementia, a year after she went public with another diagnosis, that of aphasia, the 45-year-old former model said that “everything changed for the better after we were able to make the diagnosis public. I was able to breathe and I felt a weight lift off my shoulders.” Although the management of the condition is not an easy thing neither for the patient nor for the relatives, knowing what they are really dealing with is a great asset.

Now, Emma and Bruce no longer appear at worldly events, but the 45-year-old brunette has become the biggest supporter and “voice” of her partner. That’s why he replaced the red carpet with medical and public education conferences. Her greatest desire is to help bring attention to Frontotemporal Dementia so that there is as much research as possible in the field and a cure for this debilitating condition can be discovered.
“I was able to find the support I desperately needed for my husband and our entire family”added Heming Willis about how her life and the lives of all her loved ones have been transformed.
In March, Bruce Willis and Emma Heming Willis celebrated 15 years of marriage. As the former model shared at the time, nothing is the same for them, but they are more united and connected than ever. They have two beautiful little girls, aged 11 and 9, but they are also joined by the actor’s ex-wife, Demi Moore, and the three daughters they have together.
